A good understanding of the page lifecycle is beneficial so you can tap into various stages of viewstate during the loading of pages etc. · C# o A solid understanding of object oriented programming is vital as this is the server side technology we use in class and code behind pages. Understand how to organize code between code behind files, create class files, and have a solid grasp of n-tier architecture using multiple class projects and web projects in one solution. · HTML o A solid understanding of html5, so we can create modern and flexible responsive website templates. Knowledge of W3C standards is crucial so the templates we build are accessible and fully inclusive - we need to provide a consistent experience to all types of users and abilities, and also devices and browser technologies. · CSS o Good knowledge of css, in particular css3, so we can create responsive themes and create a consistent look and feel throughout the site. · JavaScript o A firm grasp of JavaScript is vital, preferably a good knowledge of using jQuery so we can enhance the user experience throughout the websites. For example, there are times when we need to use asynchronous post backs for form submissions and pass the data to a jQuery ajax call to interact with server side methods. We also integrate client side validation, modal popups and other 3rd party vendor scripting for things like tracking etc. · XSLT o A lot of the templates we use are built using xslt - so a good understanding of the principles around xslt are necessary. · XML o A good understanding of XML is important as this is one of the formats we use to return data from web services and also xslt. · Webservices o Knowledge and experience in using webservices to return data from 3rd parties and also the Microsoft Dynamics AX database. It will be advantageous if you have experience writing and deploying web services although. · MS SQL Server o A solid understanding of relational database management, in particular MS SQL Server.
