Sr. Developer with Java and Spring
Where is the work to be performed? Hartford, CT
What are the work hours? 9-5. M-F
Initial interview will be 1 hr WebEx: candidate should know how to use
webex on a laptop along with a good quality phone, not just a cell phone!
After that there likely be a 3 hr in person interview, though there can be
a 2nd round of phone. After the in person candidate is usually either
accepted or rejected within days
· Tech skills more important than communication skills
· No claims experience required – But a HUGE plus
· Big Data, coding, cloud, functional programming or languages, ML,
LISP, Haskle, closqure
· *USC/GC candidates*
· *Ideal would be someone whom previously had a team lead position
etc*
· In interview they need to answer computer science questions and
library questions
· Can Interview as soon as Today
· 1st round interview is webex with them doing live coding
· 2nd round is Face to face 3 hour interview
What Project/Projects will the candidate be working on while on assignment?
Optum technology is looking for Senior Development professionals with
proven hands-on experience in design, and development of large-scale highly
available solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience and
detailed knowledge of building and integrating transactional analytical
platforms for high volume and velocity. The individual will execute and
support design, build and deployment of the system either in house or in a
cloud architecture. .

9 person highly skilled working on big data technology (lambda
architecture).

Primary Responsibilities:
• Large scale application experience required, strong analytical skills,
must be up to date on latest technology trends
• Successful track record in solution development and delivery
• Analytical skills and proven ability to work with delivery teams to think
out of box
• Drive and willingness to cooperate with colleagues and good communication
• A team player willing to develop and disseminate Intellectual Capital
• Requires strong verbal and written communication skills along with a
willingness to mentor others in the cross-functional organizations
• Good time management skills
• Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate strong problem

• Hands on programming and development experience; excellent problem
solving skills; proven technical leadership
• Strong understanding of how the various technical pieces fit together
• Expertise and working knowledge in Java and Spring technologies
• Strong Software development background across multiple technologies and
vendor systems
Required Qualifications:
• 6+ years of software and database engineering experience, including high
volume, scalable transactional and analytical systems.
• Extensive experience with the Java Spring Framework
Assets:
• Big data experience: Hadoop or Spark especially
• Document database experience (Elastic, HBase, MarkLogic ,MongoDB,
CouchDB, CouchBase, Lotus Note)
• Experience with Real time analytics and BI
• Building, maintaining and scaling OLTP/OLAP/Data Warehouse/ETL
• Experience in one or more of the following:
• Experience working in Health Insurance Claims.
• Experience with MapReduce coding
• Experience web services, data modelling, content processing, data
replication, etc
• Strong experience with enterprise application architecture and enterprise
integration patterns
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
