*Position Description:*



IT Application Programmer. PASSHE is seeking a Temporary IT Application
Programmer to support the technical staff for Cheyney University. Technical
responsibilities include design, development, programming, and deployment
of enterprise-wide decision support systems and, in particular, SQL Server
databases and the data warehouse.  The primary responsibility of this
position is application development, loading of data files and extracting
and transforming data for reporting and presentation.  Additional
responsibilities are to establish, maintain, and modify database
infrastructures for data loading, validation, and analysis. Initial task is
to interface State Grant information into student operation and financial
aid university systems.

•             Timeliness, accuracy, event-level tracking, and
reconciliation is critical to success.

•             Strong knowledge in SQL and relational databases.

•             Highly efficient at analyzing data in order to detect
problems and troubleshoot errors.

•             Experience designing and maintaining database applications.

•             Experience in data warehouse analysis, design and
development, including proficiency working in a relational database
environment, specifically with Oracle and SQL Server and their development
tools toolsets.

•             Experience reporting tools.

•             Working knowledge of the ETL process and data transformation
tools.

•             Review data to identify discrepancies and improve quality.

•             Review data and map sources, use, and functional association.

•             Experience in a .net environment/Java a plus.

•             Ability to reverse-engineer complex operational systems and
build applications to update and interface external data.

•             Ability to build front-end interface to allow non-technical
system operation is critical.

•             Good people skills, ability to work on project team.

•             State Grant experience is a plus.
