No OPT/CPT!* *Description: Network Engineer:* ***CANDIDATE WILL SIT AT 225 WYMAN STREET-WALTHAM* The Network Engineer will work closely with Shire’s team responsible for the network planning, design and implementation of Shire’s global network. The engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting, installing, implementing and administering network systems including the following: • Assist with Design/Development and Support of existing network infrastructure • Lead the implementation and testing of complex IT networks solutions. • Analyze existing design and provide recommendations for network integration • Troubleshoot complex network issues around routing/switching/VPN and other advanced technologies. • Provide technical review of network/system configurations to ensure viability of system performance. • Share responsibility of successful project completion with the assigned Project Manager and project team. • Provide Tier III support as needed *Qualifications:* • Minimum 5 years’ experience • Cisco Certified Network professional (CCNP) level *Technical Skill Set:* • Experience Installing, configuring, supporting and maintaining hardware and software infrastructure according to best practices, including Cisco routers, switches and firewalls • Experience installing, configuring and tuning Cisco wireless controllers and APs • Knowledge of F5 Load balancers, Bluecoat Proxy, Riverbed WAN Accelerators • Experience installing, configuring, supporting, maintaining Palo Alto Firewalls including running multi-site VPN network • Perform network integrations between routers, switches and Load balancers • Expert level Familiarity with BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, OTV, Spanning-Tree, VPNs, VoIP • Basic understanding of Cisco based VoIP systems and quality of service • Basic understanding of Cisco DMVPN technology • Knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching including VTP, ISL/ 802.1Q, VLAN, Inter-VLAN routing, Ether Channel, STP and RSTP, PVST+ *Other skill set:* Knowledge of Microsoft Visio. Strong written and communications skills. *Travel:* May require travel to other Shire sites as needed.
