The DevOps engineer role is a blend of development, technology operations
and quality assurance. If you like getting involved in lots of different
things - from developing new systems to increase engineering efficiency, to
improving the build system, to deploying software, to driving the release
process - you’ll love this job. This role will need to have the ability to
work across different technologies and interface with multiple teams.
Communicating well is an important skill along with the ability to research
and solve problems. Your day to day job will involve following: • Product
release management for UAT and production environments • Application and
server monitoring in production and UAT environments • Log aggregation and
support of log mining tools for gathering usage statistics •
Troubleshooting, analysis and support for apps in Test, UAT and production
environments • Work with development staff to build and manage continuous
integration platform • Establish DevOps model for various departments •
Work with business partners to establish standard DR and Security tests •
On-board/ train and support developers from source control, through build
automation, merge resolution, CI, test automation, deployment based on
tools.

• 5+ years’ (5 – 9 years) experience with Windows Server, IIS, SQL Server
and build automation and configuration management tools a plus(Chef,
Puppet).. (May want more experience based on level of position. •
Experience with VBScript, WMI, PowerShell experience a plus (Maybe Dos
Batch files too) • Ability to use a wide variety of technologies and tools
• A strong technical foundation in build, release and environments
management. • Ability to code and script to support automation • Experience
with Systems Administration and IT operations • Strong grasp of automation
tools (Puppet, Chef, Salt, etc) • Experience with continuous integration
and build management systems (TFS Team Build, Jenkins) • Experience with
relational database management systems such as Oracle, MySQL, and SQL
Server. • Experience with source code control (TFS, Git)
