The issue here is that the previous person in charge allowed the SQL environment to simply grow in place. It has become a monster with performance issues, over-burdened database, and capacity problems. We are looking for a very experienced SQL DBA who has previous experience migrating SQL from 2012 to 2016. Further, the candidate needs to not only be able to do the migration but also be capable of taking the single large instance database and re-architecting or separating it into several functional performance enhanced databases.
