Hi Juan, if i'm not mistakened you need to restart the machine after installing, and before you can manipulate a database, you need to create one.  You can do so using SAPDB GUI Manager (accessible from desktop shortcuts).  After creating the instance, you can create your tables using SQL Studio.  You just got to start SQL Studio, login by clicking on the key button, paste your createDB scripts on large textbox, and execute.

How does the DB start?  You can start it using SAPDB GUI Manager by ensuring that the instance is green in color, indicating that the DB is 'live'.

To ensure that the DB will automatically restart on server restart, you need to set the restart parameter of that instance to "AUTO".

Joshua

Subject: Start Engine on WIN2K

Hi,

I just finished to install the server on win2k professional
and I want to start the engine but I don't know how. I did
read the installation manual and all the messages on this
list but I can't find any way to start it. I have installaed the
7.3 v and ODBC 7.3. What i want to do is just a query on
a database to start working.

Best Regards,
Juan Domingo Herrera
