Sorry, I just saw this question.
I had not the time to figure out, what's wrong with the rpm packages,
also it looks alike, that SuSe does sth. stange ...
I it is acceptabel for you (breaks the rpm system), you should be able to
upgrade using the tgz package, shut down the running database, (bakup
before!), extrakt the tgz package, install via SDBINST Tool, set the
depend and independ pathe to /opt/sapdb/... like suse did.
This should run.
