Hi,
I could not install SAP DB on W2K when the installation path contained
blanks ('Program Files'). Without blanks, the installation worked.

Subject: Installing on Win2K
I'm having some problems installing SAPDB (7.3.0.20) on win2k professional
on a number of machines. After unzipping and unpacking
sapdb-server-win-32bit-i386-7_3_0_20.tgz and I run sdbinst.exe. This stops
after displaying the caller's working directory, and task manager shows it
is consuming 99% cpu. I have tried both interactive and background installs
without luck. I opened up INSAPDB but I am not a Perl god so I didn't want
to try anything there. All the machines I've tried are reasonably powerful
workstations (PIII 1000), and in all instance I have been local
administrator of the machine. Can anyone give me any advice as to what I'm
doing wrong? I'm very keen to evaluate SAPDB as an alternative to MS SQL
Server for some projects but until I can install it I can't get very far.
Thanks in advance
Joseph
