Jumping into this HTML coding style thread, i wonder: wouldn 't it be simpler, instead of trying to interpret the ugly HTML that word generates, to write some basic macros in word to generate the output as desired? If, as Daniel Dittmar says, the documents follow well-structured templates (and there aren 't many) it shouldn 't be so dificult.

Then this should reviewed, according the HTML Standards. Put this onto the roadmap. Doxygen could be a working solution for documenting the source code level. refer to http://www.doxygen.org . Perhaps Opening the Source Repository via CVS will give you really help from the OpenSource coders. Keeping the source closed as it is, is not an option. This should be also done for the Documentation. If you are keeping it closed like now, you won't get the urgent needed help! > One possible solution would be to parse the existing HTML into something > more palatable. Microsoft tries to break the OpenSource compability whereever they can. Crippled HTML, abuse of HTML standards and active FUD are only a few examples how those guys try to kick the competitior's asses. > Any volunteers? Yes, trash word, this breaks the readability and usability of the HTML code for thousands of users. Using Word is ashamed bad way. Use an open standard software in the future. What about DocBook like thousands of other developpers are using ? What about SGML or XML ? mfG J.
