Long column update

Hi all, I get an error "-7032 SQL statement not allowed for column of datatype LONG" when I issue the following SQL statement "UPDATE AAATEST (TEST2) VALUES ('qwertyu')". I can update any of the other columns in the table except the one of type LONG.
