I totally agree with you but, just as an idea, if someone is new to sapdb and specially NEW TO THE LIST, is very probable that he doesn 't know that there are archives. Yoy write it in this mail today but next week the new one haven 't seen your mail (to see it he should be looking at the archives !:-)
Why not add a line at the bottom of every mail pointing to a searchable archive ? I know the last line points to a page that indeed points to an archive, but I found it very usefull in other lists to have a big: "Hey, before posting search here: xxxxx". Then it 's just enough to have one mail from the list to know everything you need.
