Greetings -

I am new to SAPDB (coming from Oracle and SQLServer)
and am very impressed with the depth and quality of
the product. I am stuck on two problems and have not
been able to find specific references to solving them:

1. I have (apparently) started the X-server process on
Win2K and the registry says the listener should be on
port 85. I cannot connect a web browser to this port
using http://localhost:85/webdbm and a port scan does
not show any service (http) available on 85. I have
tried re-registering with 8585 and restarting the
service but cannot connect with a browser. My
question is - what else needs to be done to get the
webserver operating correctly once the installation
and service start have been done?

2. I would like to migrate table contents from SQL
Server to SAPDB using the MSSQL (ODBC BASED) DTS
utility. This only seems to work with some tables
(all columns are varchar) but even then, it sometimes
fails with "catastohpic error" even for a table that
previously loaded without error. My question is - has
anyone been successful with DTS and if so, what is the
secret?

Thanks in advance -

Cheers form Joel
