Sorry, but I only have bad news for you:
You will have to recover to a saved state of your database.
We saw such problem before. In that case it was a paying customer
and we had to spent a lot of time (and his money) until we found that
his hardware was in a bad state. After changing to new hardware he
did not have this problem any more. But we needed direct access to
his machine and (as I said before) muuuuuch time.
This is not possible for a problem sent from open source mailing list.
Therefore : please recover and pay attention if this problem will occur
again. Then maybe your I/O controller or main memory has some
problem and swaps bits or something similar.
