Hi,

Errortext for errorcode 31:
'A device attached to the system is not functioning.'

 

The SAPDB is started as a service, which depends on other services. Eventlog writing fails if the service that is responsible for event logging is already shutdown. You can prevent this message by shutting down SAPDB before shutting down the machine.
