Betreff: very slow connection after restore on a new machine

Hi all,

weeks ago, I set up a SAP DB server on a machine running Win XP. This
installation workes just fine.

Today, I had to move the database to a W2K Server. So I made a complete
backup to a "file medium", installed SAP DB on the new machine,
initialized a new database by using the backup and finally restored the
backup. The db is up and running, Server Manager states that everything
is O.K.

BUT: When connecting to the server via SQL Manager or via my application
(using ODBC), every new connection takes from 40 seconds to FIVE minutes
to be set up. Surprisingly, without causing any kind of timeout.

What have I done wrong?

Regards,
Markus Fehn
