(2nd send - I think I may have sent it to the old @sap.com instead of
@listserv.sap.com in last post)

Recent threads about ODBC drivers have revealed that the driver shipping
today with SQL Studio 7.4 supports Unicode on Win32.

Why is this driver not the "main release"? currently 7.3.0.28 is being
provided as the main download.

I ask, as I am wanting to use the Unicode driver to prevent extra
translation going on to work with dotNet ODBC.NET.

Is the 7.3.1.x series driver being supported with the 7.3.0.x database
engine? And again, if so, why is it not being pushed as the main driver and
distributed so that SQL Studio doesn't have to be installed? I would rather
not install SQL Studio on production servers.

Thank you.

the released ODBC drivers do not support unicode. This will change soon.

I admit, it could be the third quarter. But today, we are still in the
second one.

Eventually, an unicode ODBC driver will be available for SAP DB in the near
future.
