Hi, Can someone tell me what disadvantage there is to doing a checkup backup when doing a full backup?
If I'm understanding... Does the backup _wait to start_ until all pending (database user) transactions are completed (COMMIT / ROLLBACK)? This means it might just take a few extra seconds or minutes before it starts doing the backup, right? In other words: It slows down the backup steps a little, it doesn't put locks on the database or anything that would impact active users. Or do I have it all wrong? Thank you.
