Hi,
this sounds very strange, because error code -9000 means:
-9000 System error: Not yet implemented!
This is very funny, because nobody would expect that the
restart command will fail with 'not implemented'. So I need
some more informations. Please send me the dbm.prt file located
in the rundirectory of the kernel.
Regard,
Torsten

Subject: restore database error -24988
hi,
I made some progress in restoring the database from the Complete Backup with
checkpoints. But I get this error when I try to start the database after
recovery.
Error Code: -24988
Description: sql error [db_warm -f];-9000,Message not available.
Here are the steps I did to restore the database on my linux machine.
1) Created a new instance using DBMGUI and used the complete backup file
with check points created on another linux machine for restoring the
parameters.
2) I created the database using the restore instance not the install
instance.
3) After creating the database I used DBMGUI recovery option to recover the
database from the backup medium that I added during database creation.
4) After I finished step 3 I tried to get the database to warm state and I
got this -24988 error
Did I miss any step in restoring the database. I DID THE SAME THING ON
WINDOWS 2000 AND EVERY THING WORKED JUST FINE AND I AM ABLE TO USE THE
TABLES AND DATA normally.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
Sudhakar
