Hi,
Can anybody tell me what database parameters influence speed and what the suggested
values of them are.I especially need to know what values to set for
DATA_CACHE(for 500 users, many applications simultaneously connecting and a database
of around 4 GB. Unfortunately the dbmgui is sufficiently vague about what value to
set.),
MAX_CPU(I am going to run the database on a dual CPU machine along with with other
programs with high CPU/memory requirements),
MAX_LOCKS,
MAX_USER_TASKS(I need 500 simultaneous connections to the DB and have set it to this),
RESERVED_REDO_SIZE(I have very few transactions most database operations are
autocommitted).
Also Do I need to change any of the extended or support parameters? Are there any
docs containing practical parameter values?
I am aware that setting the devspaces to different physical devices can
increase performance. Are there any guidelines for this? Would it be better to have
multiple small data devspaces than one large one if they are on the same physical
device?
