Hello,

I'm an expericence  DBA, but very green in the SAP DB arena. We have two SAPDB databases called KW1 and KW2. I need to copy the content of KW1 to KW2. Our Sysadmin mapped a shared drive (K drive) for these two Windows NT servers so that I can back up KW1 into it, and use it to restore KW2.

When I do a complete backup (migration) with a medium on the K drive, SAPDB ended with "error -903, I/O error , access denied (2)". It works fine when I backed up to the internal disk. (I don't have enough room on the internal disk).

I specified the K:\ as the location when defining the medium. It looked like it's going to it but couldn't write to it. The account I log on is the owner of the drive and has full access to the disk. I can do anything to the disk except backing up to it.

What do I need to do? Have I overlook something? I'm not getting much from the documentation. Please help if you have some ideas that I can try.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Doug
