Hi!! A week ago I was trying to remotely create new instance on my Windows 2000 Advanced Server running Database Manager's Wizard on my notebook (Windows XP). I typed the IP address of my server, user name and it was accepted. But when I specified usernames and passwords for DBA and DBM and pressed "Next" I received: Error 24940 - System logon required [db_create.... I changed policy settings and file system permissions, but without any result. Yesterday I found that the solution is very simple. The system user (system user of the server - in most cases 'Administrator') can't have empty password. When I changed it - everything went perfect. So remember - never use empty password for Administrator, even at home ;)))
