OK, I just checked that on a "fresh PC".
I wasn't allowed to run recover_config before recover_start because of the
corrupted backup file.
The error message sounded like if one is _never_ allowed to run
recover_config  first...

MAXDATADEVSPACES previously high enough, to be able to add further data

My next experience:
Writing a script that adds devspaces if the db is e.g. 90% full.
I think that won't be that difficult.
