You may want to consider depositing the source to the fixed driver into the SAPDB-PREP project CVS tree. This project is on sourceforge at
http://sourceforge.net/projects/sapdb-prep/ Join the project, then you can deposit the source. This will allow you the freedom to move on and this fix can be obtained by anyone through anonymous checkout.
