Due Software Design errors (choosing Visual-trash-Basic) instead of C++/QT VX.y
it is impossible to port the SQL Studio directly to unix.
VB was not a good decision, that's true. I would like to see some kind of "platform independant" DBM too, altough i'm in fact very thankful to have SAP's DBMGUI.

2. Write your own WebSQL Studio using QT3.1 and share this to all
Or join the java-project ...

There is also a dbmgui project, written in java, find it for searching "dbmjui" or
sapdb in freshmeat. (http://freshmeat.net).
... which is located at
http://dbmjui.sourceforge.net/

As the JDBC-Driver of SAPDB seems to be quite solid, and Java is platform-independant, i would like to see that this application becomes a nearly complete replacement for SAP's DBM.

It doesn't have much features yet, even the wizard isn't working, but i would support this project if i had the time.
