ODBC is the native API to SAP DB. AFAIK, the overhead of ODBC driver manager
is minimal after the driver is loaded. As you, I was thinking to do write
DBX driver (based on open dbx), but there is no need to reinvent the weel to
get some (very small) speed increase.
