I just verified that this also works for Debian 3.0 (woody).
TOOLSRC builds nicely. Great.

Just a little wrinkle: instead of


$ make alltools checkRegistryDir


I had to:


$ make alltools
$ su
$ bin/prepare_inst.pl
$ exit
$ make checkRegistryDir
