I installed SapDb rel 7.4 for windows but I encountered some problem:
1) the manual reports the command SDBINST.exe for uninstalling but it
doesn't exist
2) dbmcli is installed only with dbmgui74-setup.exe and its path is not
appended to PATH system variable
3) the batch file create_demo_db.cmd contains a lot of lines as this:
type param.tmp | dbmcli -d %SID% -u dbm,dbm
that doesn't work. I replaced them with:
dbmcli -d %SID% -u dbm,dbm -i param.tmp
4) every time I create a database instance SapDb creates a Windows
service but when I drop the database by:
dbmcli -d <db> -u <dba>,<password> db_stop
the service is still there
I have also some question:
a) there is an instance for every database? In IBM DB2 an instance
contains many databases
b) I cannot use sysdba as user. I read in some place that it is
predefined. What is its password?
My pc is a P4 1,7 Mhz, 512 Mb Ram, Windows 2000 pro.
Bye.
