Hi, I had the same problem on Suse 8.1. I was able to predictably segfault when the DBD::ODBC module was built with $ODBCHOME set to the location of unixODBC. The issue is that, when building DBD::ODBC, you need to set $ODBCHOME to point to the ODBC driver from SAPDB (see http://www.sapdb.org/sap_db_program.htm).
