Hi Olaf,

is it possible for you to download the newest version from SQL Studio (7.4.3) and the WebTools from http://www.sapdb.org/7.4/sap_db_downloads.htm ?
I am sure there are some improvements compared to the Version 7.3.0.29 you use.

regards
Wolfgang

Subject: websql and sqlstudio don't work

Hello!

I have installed SAP DB 7.3 DB Server,Web Server (SAPs own wahttp.exe, because of problems with Apache 2.0.43), Webtools and ODBC-Driver on Windows NT 4 Server with SP6a. And I successfully created the Testdatabase TST with create_demo_db.cmd

The Installation Files are from the SAPDB CD-ROM (SAP DB 7.3.0.29).

working correctly are:
DB Server
Web Server (I had to add shlwapi.dll which was missing for installation of wahttp.exe as a NT service with wahttp.exe -i)

http://myservernode:85/webdbm
http:// myservernode :85/waadmin.wa

problem with websql:
after entering node, database, user and pass and submitting the form (login)
I get an ODBC Error from websql (DSN or Database not found ODBC Error:0)

After that I thought "don't care about the webtools, on NT you can also use the GUIs DBM GUI and SQLStudio". After installing these the dbm gui is working correctly analog to the webtools webdbm, but sqlstudio fails to connect to a database, giving the error "file not found: wapi.dll", although a file wapi.dll is present in the sqlstudio folder!

I think the missing shlwapi.dll was a first indicator, that I am missing some NT component, which is also relevant for wapi.dll and sqlstudio.

What could that be?

I also tried to register the wapi.dll from the sqlstudio folder with regsrv32, but that failed too...

has anyone some suggestion or solution?

thanks,

with kind regards,
Olaf Doschke.
