Same error with 2001 pages DataDev. 16MB DataDev with 4MB LogDev are also
no problem, if I don't want to use log-mode DUAL!!! I seems like there is a
problem for the sapdb-kernel to activate the mirror-log file or initialize
it, so that he can use it.

Try 20 MB or at least 2001 Pages as minimum size for data.

Betreff: LOG-MODE: DUAL

Hello there.

I run into a problem while creating a new instance. I use SAPDB version
7.4.3.10 on an RedHat 7.3 Linux SMP Server (4x 200MHz MMX with 1GB Memory
an 40GB HDD). Creating an instance with log-mode set to dual, all other
settings are default for an OLTP database, I got the error message:

An error occurs by installing database 'ABC'
-24988 sql error [util_execute INIT CONFIG]; -8888,connection broken

In this case I use a 16MB DataDev and an 4MB LogDev.

If using the whole default settings, I can use a 20GB DataDev and a 1GB
LogDev without this error. Therefore I don't think that have a problem
with the filesize. Changing the usable cpu's >1 doesn't change anything.

Is this a known bug in this version? Does anyone know a bypass to this
problem?

Mit freundlichen Gren / Kind regards
