Hi Roman, the LogMode DUAL should be available in 7.4 since 7.4.3.5! Please send me the knldiag containing the stack back trace of the kernel crash, the dbm.prt and the dbm.utl files. Additional I need the output of your configuration file. Call dbmcli -d <...> -u <...><...> param_directgetall > output.prt

I seems like there is a problem for the sapdb-kernel to activate the mirror-log file or initialize it, so that he can use it. ---------------------- Forwarded by Roman Kuestner/Austria/IBM on 10.02.2003 15:35 --------------------------- To: Roman Kuestner/Austria/IBM@IBMAT cc: Subject: AW: LOG-MODE: DUAL Try 20 MB or at least 2001 Pages as minimum size for data. -----Ursprngliche Nachricht----- Von: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]Im Auftrag von Roman Kuestner Gesendet: Montag, 10. Februar 2003 14:36 An: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Betreff: LOG-MODE: DUAL Hello there. I run into a problem while creating a new instance. I use SAPDB version 7.4.3.10 on an RedHat 7.3 Linux SMP Server (4x 200MHz MMX with 1GB Memory an 40GB HDD). Creating an instance with log-mode set to dual, all other settings are default for an OLTP database, I got the error message: An error occurs by installing database 'ABC' -24988 sql error [util_execute INIT CONFIG]; -8888,connection broken In this case I use a 16MB DataDev and an 4MB LogDev. If using the whole default settings, I can use a 20GB DataDev and a 1GB LogDev without this error. Therefore I don't think that have a problem with the filesize. Changing the usable cpu's >1 doesn't change anything. Is this a known bug in this version? Does anyone know a bypass to this problem?
