Hi Sean,
I think you are using SAP DB 7.3.0.X?
Additional I think that the SAP DB release running on
the source machine is not the same as the release on the
destination machine?

Did you try to restore a database backup made with a later
patch level than the test data base. Check out the releases
and make sure that the destination machine has the same
SAP DB release as the source machine.

If my assumption is right you are a victim of some non-downward
compatible changes made in the database catalog in the 7.3.0.2*
life cycle.

I hope this will help.

Regards,
Torsten

Subject: Restore problems

Hi!

I've read various messages on the list about restoring
databases - I've followed all the directions about
clearing logs by reinstating database instances, etc.
but to no avail.

I have a database backup taken from one machine which
I want to restore onto a second machine for testing.
The restore process works until I try and bring the
restored database online - I keep getting the
following message:
"-24988 sql error [db_warm -f]; -9000,Message not
available"

Can anyone throw any light on what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks,

Sean.
