I have made some testing to sapdb7.4.3.10.
My enviroment is:
sapdb server 7.4.3.10 on linux box.
WinMe and WinXP are as client with MS exel,borland C++builder,MS VFP6.0
and sapdb's sqlstudio.
First,I install odbc driver(odbc73 and odbc74) and create datasources
named sap73 using odbc73 and sap74 using odbc74.
In WinMe,sap73 is created succeed,but sap74 not("OK" botton on datasource
manager is disabled).I think that sqlsp32.dll of odbc74 is wrong(replacing it
with one of odbc73 makes creating succeed,though there is runtime error).
In WinXP,all are done.
Second,I create demo database using create_demo_db.sh with modified parameters,
_UNICODE=YES and DEFAULT_CODE=UNICODE,then create a table,insert
a record,then I access the table using eath of Exel,sqlexplorer,VFP and
sqlstudio.
Using datasource sap74,only sqlstuodio works fine,all of others work unnormaly.
Using datasource sap73,all can work,but chinese character does not display.
Third, I recreate database with _UNICODE=NO and DEFAULT_CODE=ASCII,then
do same as above.All of them can work,but I can not use chinese massages.
I thik problem mey be in interface between MS datasource manager and sapdb odbc
driver 7.4,as sqlstudio works well,which use sqlstudio odbc driver directlly,
but not through datasource.
Also,The table with chinese name can't be droped evermore.
UNICODE problem is critical to me,becourse I must proccess east lanquage.
If these problem can't be solved,I would have to give up SAPDB.
How can I do? I hope anyone give help to me.
