> Why shouldn't this code be under GPL/LGPL if used in SAP applications?
When run as a liveCache, SAP DB loads C++ stored procedures that are not released as Open Source. According to the GPL FAQ (specifically http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.html#GPLAndPlugins), this is not allowed for GPL'ed software, so we can't licence SAP DB to these customers using the GPL. > If SAPDB is really not licensed LGPL in context of SAP > applications, you > can never include any GPLed parts of software? We are aware of this and try to make this clear whenever the situation arises. > Then SAP made the wrong > choice of the OSS license. We can accept contributions as long as it it clear that the contributions are under a licence compatible both with closed source and GPL.
