Hi Catalin,
you get the error code -3008, because your kernel is too old (7.3.0.8).
You need at least 7.3.0.25! The SDBUPD script is testing the source
release version, but this dependency is not mentioned in the online
documentation. I will inform the documentaion team about this
restriction and we will put it into the migration document.

Sorry for that!

Hi Catalin,
-3008 means that the kernel did not recognize the given statement as a valid kernel command.

Please send me the dbm.prt, the dbm.utl and the knldiag. All file are located in the rundirectory of the kernel.

Hi Catalin,
step 4 of the migration paper told you to call util_execute migrate and NOT util_execute migration!

You are not able to migrate a 7.3 to 7.4 WITHOUT util_execute migrate.

Subject: migration from 7.3 to 7.4

Hi everybody,

I'm trying to upgrade a db from sapdb 7.3 to 7.4; i tryed to follow the steps described in the document found at http://www.sapdb.org/7.4/pdf/migration73_74eng.pdf; at step 4 "util_execute migration" i receive an sql error, which i ignored, and when i reached the step 12, "param_checkall" i received another error, "ERR_MIGRATE, migration not possible" (something like that), an that was the end; i could't do my migration.

Could anyone help me?

Best regards
Catalin Kormos
