Renaming a Database

How do you rename a Database?  I tried "renaming" in DBMGUI but this does 
not actually rename the Database (for example a jdbc sapdb://host/dbname 
call will not work for the new name).  It seems the DBMGUI just changes the 
name that references the Database in the GUI application.
