I am attempting to take an SAP DB 7.4 (on W2K) database offline and online (or
perform a shutdown and startup on it) with an EXEC SQL call from another program
through ODBC. I have been successful in connecting to it as DBA but get -3005
sqlerrors when sending "SHUTDOWN", "SHUTDOWN IMMEDIATE" or "OFFLINE" as EXEC SQL
statements. I don't see any such Manager-level commands in the SQL Syntax List (SAP
DB Reference). Is there something basic I'm missing? Thanks for responding.
