Hi Thom,

WebDAV itself does not include any authentication mechanisms. Usually authentication
would be done by implementing the ACL Protocol. By now we have no implementation of
this, nor do we have any plans to do so in the near future. For our internal use we
simply didn't need it.
Anyway, if there is a change on our point of view concerning this matter, we will drop
a message here.

Cheers,
Daniel

Subject: WebDAV security

I have been using SAP/DB 7.4 now for a week, and have found it to be quite
excellent. Thank you all for a wonderful piece of userful software.

That said,

I recently turned on the WebDAV module, and set it up. It works fine, I am able
to copy files to it and retrieve them...

however, anyone can read/write it.

Is there a way to turn on authentication so that only an authenticated database
user may use it? or authenticate to an external source like
LDAP/Kerberos/whatever, or??
