Hello everybody,

we intend to use the SAPDB togehter with the SAP Content Server. To this
point ve two questions:

As it is documented, the SAPDB will compress the data stored to it. Were
using CATIA V5 Rev10 SP3 as our
CAD system and the following file types will be stored on the database

*.CATPart
*.CATProduct
*.CATDrawing

Anybody knows, with which percentage these filetypes are compressed?

The next question concerns the backup and recovery:

Sometimes it could happen, that a file is corrupt.
So we need to restore this file from our backup, which will be done using
the ARCServe Backup System. As the
data is stored as a BLOB, it could happen we need only to restore one
record.
But the ARCServ restores only the complete database file. This database file
could have a size of approx. 70 GB, which means
we need the restore the complete 70 GB, only for getting one record back to
our productive database.

Is there a generally backup and restore concept available, or could anyone
give me some hints, how to do this?

Thanks for your help!

Mit freundlichen Gren / best regards
