as the last step in migrating from *dabas-D to SAP-DB, I am rewriting my backup scripts. My backup strategy is something like:
daily (1:30): - archive old backups - verify devspaces - full backup (DATA) - update statistics
every 6 hours (7:30, 13:30, 19:30): - incremental backup (PAGES)
every 2 hours (3:00, 5:00 ... etc): - log backup (LOG)
My questions:
1) How do I verify the devspaces using dbmcli? In the DBMGUI there is the item Check->Database, but I cannot find any command in the DBMCLI with the same function.
2) When archiving my old backups, is it enough to just tar/gzip the files (I am using file devices) or do I have to use the "archive_stage" command? What type of medium is the <ext_backup_medium> for that command?
Thanks, Arne
