Hello Tilo,

The problem is resolved, i succesfully restored the db on two other servers.
There was actually no problem in the first place, my colleague just pointed me to the
wrong path where i had to check for the tables. It was all good from the start ;)
Thanks a lot for your reply though!

Kind regards,
Bob ten Berge

Hello Bob,

just to be sure, you also restored your backup, not only the parameters?

Subject: Problems restoring a backup (migration)

Hello all,

I got a problem restoring a complete migration backup.
I tried to follow the procedure to add a new instance and then choose to restore
parameters from backup medium, enter the appropiate info where the file is, and alter
the paths to where the sys, log and dat files should be. Everything seems to go just
fine, no errors and the database instance is running after completion. But, when i
connect to that instance with SQL studio, there are none of the tables that should be
there....

Am i doing something wrong here? Am i missing something?
All i want is to make sure i can use a backup to recreate an instance on a different
server, this must be possible because when the server dies i have to be able to get
back to a working environment.

Please help!

Sincerely,
Bob
