Hello Tilo, The problem is resolved, i succesfully restored the db on two other servers. There was actually no problem in the first place, my colleague just pointed me to the wrong path where i had to check for the tables. It was all good from the start ;) Thanks a lot for your reply though!

Everything seems to go just fine, no errors and the database instance is running after completion. But, when i connect to that instance with SQL studio, there are none of the tables that should be there.... Am i doing something wrong here? Am i missing something? All i want is to make sure i can use a backup to recreate an instance on a different server, this must be possible because when the server dies i have to be able to get back to a working environment.
