We ran into major problems with SAP DB on Network appliance storage system.
The database crashed several times and the performance was terrible. We
ended up setting up a direct connection between the disk storage system and
the NT box. Since then, everything has been good. Somebody from SAP
recommended this to me. I don't recall the person name.

Subject: SAP DB on Network Appliance Filers

Hello,

are there any experiences considering performance, stability, snapshot
synchronization and handling in using a filer appliance as a storage
device for a productive SAP DB installation ?
I'm thinking of a Linux database server connected to the appliance by NFS.

Regards,
Herbert
