Some notes:

a.) A new native MySQL connection option was added for OOo 1.1 Beta.
Considering how this required development, and using StarOffice with a
native driver requires only _repackaging_ (the OOo Adabase D drivers
work!), I think there needs to be a little more vocality from SAPDB users
on the OOo lists.. It could work "out of the box" with OOo very easily.
Of course anyone setting up a SAPDB server probably can figure out the
Adabas D driver hack, but those simply wanting to ACCESS a remote database
might have a bit more trouble. (And why should a hack have to be done if
it can be done the easy way...).

b.) I noticed mention [in the procedings of the OOo user conference] of a
Document management system for OpenOffice/StarOffice. The system was
started in Adabas D and migrated to SAPDB later.

c.) I noticed (in the same place) a presentation by Software AG, urging
the use of of their WebDAV and text indexing tools to compete with MS
Office's webdav capabilities. (and of course they think you should buy
StarOffice to get Adabas D, which they even say something like.. "Personal
and restricted"... nice.).
