Not possible to change LOG_MODE to DUAL

Hi all
 
I have a 7.4.3 SAPDB database system on SUSE 8.1
 
Why isn't it possible to change the LOG_MODE to dual?
On the commandline it is possible,but the kerenl don't take it over.
 
By the Way In dbmcli and DBMGUI I don't receive any LOG information (show log)!
