Hi Chid

Please refer to the mail from Peter Willadt [EMAIL PROTECTED] from So 30.03.2003
10:30. Perhaps it could help you:

"there have been some changes - log mode dual was abolished and then
re-implemented with a slightly different syntax.
You should check the archives. As far as I remember, some 7.4.3. version
(7.4.3.3 or the like - and that's propablby your version) is the one without
log mode dual."

But what is SAP planning to do? When will this Bug fixed?

Cheers

Edo

Subject: Log Mode Dual in 7.4.3.17

Hello,
Have just installed SAP DB version 7.3.4.17 and I get
an error when trying to set LOG_MODE=DUAL.

echo param_put LOG_MODE DUAL >> param.tmp
-24968,ERR_XPREADONLY: parameter is read only

Logically enough, no mirrored log is then created
(visible on DB server and in DBMGUI 7.4.3.17), and the
option to set log mode dual is greyed out.
Has the syntax changed and how can the instance now be
set to log mode dual?
Thanks
Chid.
