Is raw IO supported on Linux?
The reason I asked (eventhough there is an answer in the archives) is that sapdb complained that it couldn't read from the device:
2003-04-01 14:18:32 2762 11000 vattach '/home/zepong/sapdb/ZDB/sys_disk' devno 1 T5 succeeded 2003-04-01 14:18:32 2762 ERR 11000 newdevsi Could not read, No such device or address 2003-04-01 14:18:32 2762 11000 vdevsize '/dev/raw/raw1', 64000 failed 2003-04-01 14:18:32 2762 ERR 53013 I/O Could not read from devspace 2003-04-01 14:18:32 2762 ERR 53017 I/O DATADEV DEVNO: 1 2003-04-01 14:18:32 2762 ERR 53016 I/O /dev/raw/raw1 2003-04-01 14:18:32 2762 11000 vdetach '/home/zepong/sapdb/ZDB/sys_disk' devno 1 T5
This was wrong of course, the real problem was that fdisk had a different idea about how large the raw devices were than reality so I overstated the size when adding the devspaces...
Oh well it seems to work now...
