Hi Thorsten,
you are a victim of a fatal error! The converter of the
database seems to be corrupted and therefore no restart
is possible!

I assume that your installation is a productive one, so
you have to open an OSS note.

Regards,
Torsten

Subject: sapdb does not start again after crash

Hi all,

i have a serious problem with an sapdb database - the system crashed
yesterday and i am not able to restart the database. The system is a SuSE
Linux with Kernel 2.4.13 and the version of the sapdb is 7.1.4.039 (a little
old i think). My Problem is, that i have never used sapdb before, but now i
am responsible for this machine and have to get it back online. So i hope
that someone can help me.

The Error Message is known in this group, i've seen it in some messages, but
my problem could not be solved.

I also checked the knldiag and knldiag.err and found this entries:

I hope that there is a chance to restart the database, because the former
system admin never made any backups of that system.

Thanks and greetings,
Thorsten Kreutz
