thanks for the prompt answer.
It works on the 7.4 Server, but not on the 7.3.0.20 :-((

But: Do I have to use this declare - stuff for every Statement? I was thinking about 
using SAPDB in ansi mode as a replacement of a SQLServer connecting using ODBC. 
But the String concatenation is different, too. ( "||" instead of "+") Or can that be 
changed?
