Hi All,

I have installed the SAPDB in windows and I found it very effective.
So I planned to install SAPDB in my Linux too. My computer is Intel
based and the OS is Redhat 9.0. I have downloaded the package .tgz
file for Linux intel 32 bit and I unpacked it and installed SAPDB.
The installation was succesfull. I did not start the SAPDB. Before
that, later I found that one of the installed path ie
the 'indep_prog' was accidently put in some other linux partition
which is ment for Backup by me during installtion.

So I wanted to Uninstall SAPDB and again install SAPDB. So I went to
the indep_prog/bin and ran uninstall. It started fine but soon got
out from it telling that the rpm package for SAPDB could not be
found. Is it because I installed from the .tgz file and not from rpm
package which is available from the site?. Which package I have to go
i.e. rpm package or the all components .tgz file?

So for uninstalling, I manually removed the folders whcih SAPD
created during installation.

I removed the /usr/sapdb --> user for SAPDB
/var/log/sapdb
/var/opt/sapdb
/Linbackup/y --> the wrongly placed folder during the installtion
which contains the indep_prog folder in it.

But when I started the installation fresh, the installtion was asking
for the ndep_prog/bin/ folder. So I got stuck. Please tell me a
method to wipe out all the files related to SAPDB or could you please
tell me how can I install SAPDB again?

I know its my fault to play around. But please help me as I am a
newbie and I have no other room but to wait for your answers.

Lot of Thanks in Advance

Bye
Thanks and Regards
Emmanuel Mathew
